Justin and I recently took a trip to Delta to see his parents. And since Justin and I are terrible people, we did not stay for the full three hours of Church. We had decided a few days before to go see the Great Stone Face for our third hour of church. (Justin had heard Cary, Bill and Gena talk about it on the Radio from Hell show a few days earlier) Apparently, it looks like Joseph Smith, we figured it could qualify as a religious outing.

The Great Stone Face is in Deseret, the town just past Delta. Justin had been there once before, and thought he might be able to find it again. (side note: I later asked Justin who he went with before to see this thing, and he didn't answer me. He told me don't ask questions I don't want answers to....) So we were driving along, listening to Kansas, and we thought we missed the turn, to our great surprise there was sign! So after a very long dirt road, and seeing only one other person, we came to The Great Stone Face!! I then started to think, who was the genius that was out smoking the weeds, and looked up to see Joseph Smith in a rock? After staring at the rock for a while and a few pictures, we got bored and drove away. There were also some cool petroglyphs as well, along side the porta-potty. We also went to see Fort Deseret, since it was right there.

On the way back to Justin's parents house, we decided to take a different way. We kept looking for the Delta Water Tour to figure out where we were, and we figured it would be easy to get back. We were kind of wrong. You have to realize Justin's parents live kind of outside of Delta, in the middle of a bunch of farms. And me and Justin then realized we had actually never explored past where they live. So yes, we were lost. We did eventually find our way back though. Fortunately there are not may roads in Delta.
